Oravax Medical, a subsidiary of Israel’s Oramed Pharmaceuticals, and Vietnamese businesses signed a partnership agreement for Oravax’s oral COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, according to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

Tan Thanh Holdings and 10 Pharma Joint Stock Company (JSC) of Vietnam will distribute Oravax, the COVID-19 vaccine, across Southeast Asian countries.

Nadav Kidron, CEO of Oramed and Chairman of Oravax, said that the contract, which is valued at hundreds of millions of dollars for Oravax, includes pre-orders for the oral vaccine.
He saw Tan Thanh Holdings as an ideal partner for his business in bringing the oral vaccination to Vietnam and the other ASEAN member countries, which have a population of more than 660 million.
In his remarks at the signing ceremony, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Do Minh Hung emphasised the importance of collaboration, noting that this is the first time Vietnam and Israel have collaborated in high-tech healthcare, both commercially and technologically.
He added that the collaboration adheres to the Vietnamese government’s requirements and satisfies local demand for vaccination availability.
