The very first Omicron case was a 16-year-old boy who attended the Chang Fair concert on December 15 and 17, putting 30 people at risk of infection and 21 at low risk of infection.

Three Omicron cases have been identified in Surin’s Kap Choeng district, putting 49 individuals at high risk of infection, the provincial Covid-19 information centre announced on Sunday in a Facebook post (Dec 26).

The very first Omicron case was a 16-year-old boy who attended the Chang Fair concert on December 15 and 17, putting 30 people at risk of infection and 21 at low risk of infection.

The second and third Omicron cases included a 40-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man who returned from Denmark and went to their Kap Choeng district residence, putting 19 individuals at high risk of infection and two at low risk of infection.

Total cases in the province were 18,944 with 80 fatalities, while 18,769 people have been treated and discharged so far.
