Shorter Home Quarantine For Fully Vaccinated Close Contacts And International Arrivals Says PM Sabri
According to Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Malaysia has reduced the duration required for fully-vaccinated close contacts and international arrivals beginning Monday (October 18).
The Prime Minister said that close contacts will be subjected to a seven-day home quarantine.
“Close contacts, who are partially vaccinated or not vaccinated, will need to undergo home quarantine for 10 days."
He said that international visitors who were fully vaccinated will be quarantined for seven days upon arrival.
This may be done in a designated quarantine station or, if suitable, at home.
The new regulations, according to the Prime Minister, were agreed during the Special Committee on Covid-19 Pandemic Management meeting on Friday (Oct 15).
He also said that international arrivals who were either partly or not at all vaccinated will be quarantined for 10 days at a designated quarantine station.

It had previously been reported that all international arrivals will be quarantined for 14 days.
An SOP allowing international travel for the purpose of umrah, which was presented at the technical working group pandemic management meeting on September 27, had been appointed in connection with the announcement to enable interstate travel on October 11.
“In relation to that, pilgrims are allowed to perform umrah following the decision to remove the MyTravelPass requirement effective Monday," said the Prime Minister.
