The vaccinations provided under the Selvax Booster Programme at Selcare clinics have a three-year shelf life and would be used up inside the state or sold to other states and countries.

Selangor residents interested in receiving free booster doses under the state’s Selvax Booster Programme are encouraged to schedule an appointment using the Selangkah app to prevent overcrowding.
While walk-in slots are still available, Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari advised the public to schedule an appointment at their preferred Selcare clinics to ensure a space and minimise wait time.
“I was informed that we have had good response from the public since we kicked off the free booster programme today.
“We are managing the situation and improving as needed, including looking at increasing the daily vaccine quota at each clinic so those who turn up will not be disappointed,” he said during the state assembly sitting yesterday.
He was replying to an additional question from Elizabeth Wong (PH-Bukit Lanjan) at the Selangor state assembly meeting in Shah Alam on where citizens of Selangor may get their free booster doses.

Amirudin said that walk-ins for booster injections at any of the 17 Selcare clinics will be prioritised for older residents and those with comorbidities.
Later, when questioned on the sidelines about complaints that individuals were required to pay before booking an appointment on Selangkah, he repeated that the booster jab was free.
He stated that each Selcare clinic had an adequate supply of vaccination doses.
On Tuesday, the state administration stated that it will provide free Sinovac booster doses to all residents of Selangor, regardless of whether they have previously been under the Selvax program.
For individuals who have completed their first two Covid-19 vaccination doses, the state government has provided 157,000 Sinovac booster doses for the first phase of the Selvax vaccination program.

In response to a previous query from Rajiv Rishyakaran (PH-Bukit Gasing) on the state’s vaccine supplies, Amirudin said that as of November 1, the Selvax Industry programme had a 537,045-dose surplus.
Amirudin added that the vaccinations had a three-year shelf life and would be used up inside the state or sold to other states and countries.
“But before that, we want to ensure that the vaccines are used to fulfil the state’s need, including the booster programme.”
As of December 3, about 312,928 doses had been delivered via the Selvax Community programme, while 3,572 doses had been provided through the Selvax Youth programme.
