“In a latest development, those who returned from umrah have started wearing the tracker device,” he said in a post on his Facebook page today.
According to him, the digital detecting gadget is now allocated for travellers returning from 18 high-risk countries who are required to undergo home quarantine.
On Saturday, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said that beginning this week, all individuals enduring the seven-day compulsory quarantine would be obliged to wear the digital monitoring bracelet.
Khairy said that the device was used because 30 of the 49 new Omicron cases detected in Malaysia were travellers returning from Saudi Arabia.
