According to Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, another 15 Covid-19 cases were reported among flood victims at temporary relief centres (PPS).

According to the Health Director-General, the overall number of cases among flood victims has already reached 442, who also said that no new clusters were identified in PPS yesterday.

Of the total, 71 cases involved infectious diseases comprising acute respiratory infections (26 cases), skin disease (30), acute gastroenteritis (13) and hand, foot and mouth disease (two),” he said.

Dr Noor Hisham said three new clusters had been detected, increasing the total number of active clusters to 221.

The daily Covid-19 infections increased to 3,997 cases, taking the cumulative total to 2,754,513.

From the new cases, 64 are in Categories Three, Four and Five while the rest are in Categories One and Two with no or mild symptoms.

A total of 3,631 are local infections while the remaining 366 are imported cases,” he said.

There were 281 patients admitted to the intensive care unit, with 155 needing breathing support.

There were 3,984 recoveries, bringing the total to 2,681,390.

The infection rate in the country was 0.95.
